Ask the Angels: My Love Letter From Heaven
Ask the Angels: My Love Letter From Heaven Cheryl Gaer Barlow
My wonderful husband recently died in my arms from a heart attack. I’m writing this from raw pain. I continue to gasp and bawl hysterically every few minutes. I can’t understand him no longer being with me, for he was my world. The following is his obituary:
Gene H. “Jack” Barlow was born in 1933 in Northern California. He was an adventurer in life, running wild horses and buckarooing in Nevada, California, and Oregon. He served honorably in the U.S. Army in the Korean campaign.
Jack worked at various times in construction. He served for many years as a deputy sheriff in four counties and as a deputy U.S. marshal for several years in Nevada. He spent several years in Alaska, part of them prospecting for gold.
Jack enjoyed cattle and horses, guns and hunting, and good whiskey and women. In the old saying of buckaroos and sailors, “He saw the elephant and heard the owl hoot!” Jack and his wife, Cheryl, moved to New Mexico from Colorado in 2007.
