Time to See Things as They Really Are

Time to See Things as They Really Are Donna Taylor

The big news for August is that Jupiter changes signs. After spending a year in Leo, he packs his bags on August 14 and moves on to see what wonders he can perform for the Virgo while simultaneously lending a helping hand to the efforts of the Taurus and the Capricorn. It isn’t just the earth signs that will benefit — although they are in prime position to do so. Everyone will notice a shift in the sense that one particular area of life will begin to get easier. For some, this will be obvious. The Leos will notice that money seems less of a problem, and the Pisces will find their relationships becoming more of a source of joy along with opportunities to meet new people or find new love. For other signs, it will be more abstract. The Cancers might notice a change within themselves through greater optimism and a growing awareness of the possibilities around them. Everyone gets a gift when Jupiter changes signs, so consult your forecasts to read about yours.

Consider, though, that the gifts might not be immediately forthcoming, and it could initially seem the opposite (for reasons that I will explain next). But the opportunities and gifts will come; we just need to be patient. The potential delay is largely down to Saturn. The party pooper arrives at the very start of the month when he forms a hard angle to Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter, bringing challenges or restrictions to the Taurus, Libra, Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, and (to a lesser extent) Pisces. The Leo is likely to feel the weight of Saturn too. For these signs, it could seem as though Jupiter’s gifts are being withheld; and they might be for a short time.

The best advice I can give to all born under the aforementioned signs is to be patient and persevere in the face of trial and hardship. The temptation might be to take a tough stance and push, or try to force, the issue, but this is only likely to result in fatigue and weariness at best and exhaustion at worst. When we come face-to-face with Saturn, the best thing to do is try to determine what lesson he is trying to teach us (for Saturn is the great teacher and very keen that we learn our lessons!). So if you find yourself up against something in August — a lack of something you want or a sense of loneliness or a responsibility you’d rather do without — try to see what is being asked of you. The temptation with all those fun planets in Leo is to let our hair down and have a good time, but Saturn is asking us to face the music, whatever that happens to be.
