The purpose of a mirror, as well as your senses, is to reflect and be reflected on. The five far senses are programmed outwardly. They must send their information to the brain’s interpretation centers, which are old data centers based on the past. At the same time, your near senses monitor what’s happening within you and interpret those sensations into thoughts and feelings that can be projected onto everything around you, reflecting your inner state. To complicate things a bit, the egocentric thoughts and feelings of others can project on to you, which you might interpret as your own.
