My dad’s name is Joe, and he lives in a retirement home. As his health declined, it was no longer safe for him to live at home. It was hard for him to make friends, so he stayed in his room a lot because he didn’t know anybody there.

Being away from his family for the first time was very hard for him — especially being away from his pets, two dogs and two cats. He was told when he first moved into the retirement home that he could have a cat as long as the cat got along with the other cat on the same floor.

In the middle of a bunch of changes, the retirement home was placed for sale. Dad became depressed, so he asked the angels to help him and to send him a good friend. Dad was sitting outside on the patio, enjoying the beautiful summer weather with a few people he had come to know, when out of nowhere a black-and-white cat who was known around the neighborhood came into the yard. He slowly walked up to Dad and sat beside him, staring at him.
