In the process of spiritual development, you seek your true self. The discovery of the sacred being that lies within provides the means by which you can move beyond the limitations you have created in living your life.

This is the time of year when many of us go back to school or recommit to a pending project. It is often a time of renewal. We renew our resolve. We look to see what we have accomplished and what we are harvesting. We look to what is creating value and what is not working as well as it can.

It may seem easier, or maybe it is some kind of default mechanism, for us to focus on what is wrong rather than what is right. Maybe it is a survival instinct. Maybe it is disbelief. Maybe it is a longstanding habit. What would it be like to focus on what is right with us?

There is a duality in existence that is an artificial construct that affects us in significant ways. Our immediate consciousness perceives us as human in physical form, and we respond in daily existence in this mode. However, we are first and foremost spirits having a human experience.

"All points lead to now" has been my tag line for a long while. I find that no matter where we have been and what we have been through, it all leads us to this point in time — reading this article, drinking that cup of coffee, flirting with that husband, or living in that house.
