Shamanic Wisdom: The Feel Good Challenge Jan Engels-Smith

I have a passionate desire to be of service and to teach people how to be well. Consequently, I ask the spirits daily, “How can I help?” Several years ago, they had me design a free daily opportunity in which people can participate in the Feel Good Challenge. Following is some background of its conception and some practice challenges.
I have been a professional shamanic practitioner for over twenty-five years. Before that, I was a practicing licensed professional counselor. I have witnessed people trapped in their thinking, ill health, beliefs, past, and anger. To them, the concept of feeling good sounded impossible. But no matter your circumstance — no matter how bad, how sick, how difficult, or how poor you might feel — there is hope, and there is possibility.
I have conversations with my spiritual allies. Once I discussed with them the topic of how to help people who don’t take my classes or who have no interest in learning shamanism. I asked a series of questions with an emphasis on how I could create something that would teach people how to change their lives and how I could have consistent contact with them. This led to the creation of the Feel Good Challenge.
