At this moment, we are all being triggered in one way or another. We might be bored. We might be frustrated. We might lack purpose. We might feel a little, or a lot, down in the dumps.
There was a recent news story regarding Michele Obama admitting to low-grade depression. She shared how she felt a lack of motivation, depleted energy, and a lackluster view of life. This resonated with me, due to the manner in which she articulated it, and it opened the door to this conversation.
What does low-grade depression look and feel like? It can be, as mentioned, feelings of dullness and lack of purpose or motivation. It is also insidious, so we might not realize we are feeling what we are feeling. We might be tired and irritable for no apparent reason. We might not feel like doing anything. So do we have to name it to feel it? How do we take our temperatures regarding where we are, emotionally?
